Help, my plugin won't update

Written by the Divi Engine Documentation Team

Warning

Do not delete your Divi Engine plugin to then upload the newest version manually since you will delete your settings.

Step 1: Add Your License Key

If your Divi Engine plugin is unable to update then please double-check that you have added your license key correctly. Go to Divi Engine from your wp-admin dashboard and look for the area where your license key is added. If added correctly you will be able to see the domain name associated with the key in the Orders section of your Divi Engine account.

Step 2: Update Forbidden

If you have added your Divi Engine license key correctly then you will get notifications when an update is available. If the update is forbidden then contact our support since there might be a database error that we will need to fix.

Step 3: Other Ideas

Here are some other possible solutions to your update issue.

  • Your server cache settings could cause the old package to return from the server tmp folder. In this case, it’s better not to waste time and update manually in your files through an FTP, SMTP or CPANEL.
  • Your server has a proxy that denies access to Divi Engine Servers. Ensure our server IP is whitelisted. Here is the IP address 178.62.74.125
  • The file/folder permission issue - please try resetting your permissions on the server.
  • Firewall which blocks access to our Servers. Ensure our Divi Engine IP is whitelisted in your server. Here is the IP address 178.62.74.125
  • Plugin conflict. Try deactivating all the plugins and then try updating.
  • Missing Remote Get function or cURL package for PHP. In this case, contact your service provider.
