The Style For My Button Is Not Showing
Written by the Divi Engine Documentation Team
Introduction
Follow these steps if your buttons are not showing the correct design.
Step 1: Double-check Your Setup
Begin by making sure that you have styled your button the correct way. Click HERE to learn how to style buttons in Divi.
Step 2: Use A Divi Section
Make sure that you are using a section for the Divi Library Layout containing your button. The browser will look for a Divi button inside a Divi section. As an example, the CSS class for the account navigation is: body #page-container .et_pb_section .et_pb_db_account_nav_0 .et_pb_button.
Step 3: Update, Disable & Flush
Very often, WordPress Divi problems can be solved by updating. Make sure that Divi BodyCommerce and Divi are updated (do this on a staging website or with the ability to restore). If your button style is still not showing after the update, disable the Divi performance options that are related to JQuery, CSS and JS (Javascript) in Divi > Theme Options along with the static CSS file generation found by going to Divi > Theme Options > Builder > Advanced. End off by flushing your permalink structure twice by saving the permalink structure. Go to Settings > Permalinks > Save Twice. Now open in a cache free browser.
Step 4: Find A Plugin Conflict
OK, so your button style is still not showing after all that. Let's keep exploring. Please test to see if there is a plugin conflict. Disable all plugins, clear your browser cache and then see if the issue goes away. If your button style is now showing then you know that it is a plugin conflict. Reactivate each plugin one at a time until you find the troublesome plugin.
Step 5: Remove Extra CSS
Sometimes problems arise from custom CSS added to your website through Divi > Theme Options or the style.css file of your child theme. Create a staging website and remove any extra CSS to see if perhaps there is some CSS stopping your button style from showing.
Step 6: Restore Your Website
We have found that when our customers update a plugin or theme, things break. Perhaps your button style issue has to do with a recent update. To get your live website working again, please restore it to a version from before the update (when your button style worked) and then contact us. We will then ask you to create a staging website where we can update again and test to see where the problem lies.
