Is Divi Mega Menu Slowing Down My Website?

Introduction

Follow these steps if you think that your website is being slowed down by Mega Menu.

Step 1: Divi Mega Menu Is Fast

Divi Mega Menu is the most lightweight Divi Mega Menu plugin. We do not use external libraries to do the work - it is all hand-coded. All the JS code is in one file which is around 20kb in size. We don't use much CSS and all that is added is "internal" CSS which means it loads faster. 

Step 2: What Causes A Slow Mega Menu? 

Since you can add anything to your Mega Menu using the Divi Builder, you might end up building a Mega Menu that does slow down your Divi website. For example, if you build a massively complex Mega Menu using 3rd party plugins, etc. then you may find that this particular Mega Menu slows down your website. However, the issue is not Divi Mega Menu, but rather the complexity of the Menu. 

Step 3: What To Do?

  • Delete all the Mega Menus you have made and test the speed of the site using reliable techniques. 
  • Restore each Mega Menu one by one until you find the troublesome Mega Menu. 
  • Then investigate the modules you have used here and remove or work out what is causing the problem.
