Custom Checkout Fields

Introduction

Follow these steps to set up custom checkout fields.

Step 1: Add A New Checkout Field

Go to Divi > BodyCommerce > Checkout Fields and Add New.

Step 2: Design Your Custom Checkout Field

After creating your new checkout field you will be left with a number of options described below. Work through each one, click publish and view your new field on the frontend.

Please note that you must add in the unique ID. Make sure there are no spaces and only the underscore "_" between words.

Custom Checkout Field Settings

  • Field Name/Label: Enter a name for the field that will show on the frontend.
  • Field Type: Select the type of field.
  • Placeholder (if applicable): If you have selected text, date or Textarea then enter in a placeholder.
  • Unique ID: Enter a unique ID for this field. The ID can have no spaces and only the underscore "_" between words. An example is, "sign_up_checkbox"
  • Required Field: Do you want this field to be required?
  • Error Message: If your customer does not use your custom field, what error message do you want to be shown?
  • Field Width: Decide on the field width?
  • Display Field on View Order page? Do you want this field on the view order page?
  • Add the custom field to the email? Do you want the field to show in the email?
  • Where to add the field: Select where to add the field in the checkout.
  • Checkbox True Text: If the checkbox is true, what text do you want to be displayed in the email and view order page.
  • Checkbox False Text: If the checkbox is false, what text do you want to be displayed in the email and view order page.
